A warm welcome to Harrison's new police officer

One of the most meaningful moments of the evening was the swearing-in of Tyler Ballauer, officially welcoming him to the Harrison Police Department.

Introduced by Chief Charles Lindsay, Officer Ballauer brings a strong background in public service. He is a Ross High School graduate, earned a bachelor’s degree from Miami University, completed the Ohio State Highway Patrol Police Academy in 2022, and most recently served with the Hamilton Police Department.

Chief Lindsay also recognized Officer Ballauer’s family legacy in law enforcement, noting decades of service within Hamilton County.

Mayor Grubbs welcomed Officer Ballauer to the department, and thanked him for choosing Harrison, sharing how meaningful the moment was.

“I have no greater honor than being able to swear in this young man to begin his career here in the City of Harrison. To get to know his heart, his dedication, and his commitment to service, and to welcome someone like that into our community - is truly meaningful.”

City Updates and Ongoing Projects

Council shared several updates reflecting continued progress throughout the City:

  • Council approved allowing Dave Reinhardt to serve on the Civil Service Commission, filling a previously unfilled vacancy.

  • Crews continue work on the new splash pad, with construction moving forward as weather allows. The project remains a highly anticipated addition for Harrison families.

  • Mayor Grubbs highlighted the opening of Haverkos Family Orthodontics on Dry Fork Road, noting the investment in a new facility and additional space that will welcome complementary businesses.

  • Council also shared that the Civil Defense and Public Safety Committee has been renamed the Emergency Management Committee, a change that better reflects its modern role in preparing for and responding to emergencies such as severe weather, flooding, and other community-wide incidents.

These contributions directly support local families, teamwork, and opportunities for young athletes throughout the community.

Honoring a Career of Service and Leadership
