Construction Update: New Haven Road and State Street

As we move further into spring, a few smaller infrastructure projects are getting underway across Harrison. These are targeted improvements designed to address specific issues and keep things moving smoothly as we head into the warmer months.

New Haven Road Resurfacing

Work will begin next week on a short section of New Haven Road, near the bridge where the pavement has shifted over time. This project will mill down the existing surface and apply a fresh layer of pavement, creating a smoother and more consistent driving experience.

Because of the timing and approach, many residents may not notice significant disruption. The work is expected to move quickly, with crews working during off-peak hours to minimize impact where possible.

State Street Siphon Project

This week Wednesday, April 22, construction will begin on the State Street siphon project in the 300 block of State Street.

This is a sewer infrastructure improvement that will require traffic to be reduced to one lane in that area during construction. While this work is more visible, it is focused and necessary to maintain and improve the reliability of the system serving downtown.

As always, we appreciate your patience as these improvements are completed.

Looking Ahead

You may also notice, at some point, that a small number of residents receive a letter from the Ohio Department of Transportation related to a future project in the Dry Fork South area.

This outreach is part of ODOT’s early design and notification process and is being sent only to a limited group of nearby property owners. It is not connected to any current construction activity, and no work is scheduled to begin in the near term.

If you have questions about these projects, please contact Public Works. The Source will continue to serve as the best place for accurate, up-to-date information, and we will share additional details as they are finalized.
